PostSubject: Haven di Bernardo   Wed Jan 11, 2024 8:26 pm

And here comes in the question whether it is better to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather than loved. It might perhaps be answered that we should wish to be both; but since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved.
-Il Principe, Niccolo Machiavelli

Haven di Bernardo
Garou Name: Feared-Not-Loved

Breed: Homid
Clan: Shadow Lords
Auspice: Theurge, of the Waning Moon.
Rank: Cliath of the Sept of the Dreamer's Eye
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 124 lbs.
Age: 19

Appearance
Homid:
With a lithe build and hair like ruby and gold spun into silk, Haven is the epitome of fine breeding. From the angled features to the finery she dresses in to the alabaster complexion, she is regal in every way she proceeds, be it simply the way she walks or the words she speaks with. Behind her bright, blue eyes is a keen wit, and she tends to always have a honeyed tongue behind a teasing smile.
She tends to carry instruments of her station with her- indeed, if one were to observe the bag she carries, they would see that it is not only filled to the brim with bound books, but finely made, at that.

Lupis:
The wolf that the woman of ruby hair and lips, however, is a far cry from the sylphlike thing she herself was. Haven's lupis form is a truly massive beast, the ink-black pelt that it has truly dark and tenebrous. Were it not for those same bright, ultramarine eyes, the thing would be incredibly difficult to spot at night.
The fur of the wolf is thick and well-groomed, shining like obsidian- and she postures herself dominantly, pacing back and forth with a tendency to give a low, soft growl... If only to see the others around her jump.

Personality
Arrogance incarnate, Haven is otherwise quite playful and friendly, though dominant. She tends to make sure herself that a person in power is truly deserving of it, and only then will she accept working with them. Otherwise, she is quite happy to depose of them... In any way possible.

Background
Born to the noble house of Bernardo within Italy, Haven had a regularly normal childhood. She grew up in relative comfort, was educated as a privelege of her higher station, and was otherwise given the best of resources available to her. And, of course, she took complete advantage of that. One would be surprised how far a cut-throat attitude can get you.
The Bernardo house, of course, was supported by the Lords of the Summit, and many of them were kinfolk, working as agents of the Shadow Lords of Italy. And as is custom for the puppeteers, they tended to take advantage of their resources, and attempt to increase their breeding.
And then one night, when Haven was fifteen, the family disappeared entirely. And when the Shadow Lords checked upon the distress message they had recieved, they found little Haven, within crinos form, her frenzy having spattered the viscera of her family upon the walls of her childhood home, her darling little sister in her stomach, still feasting upon the body of her mother.
Though the Shadow Lords were understandably upset over the loss of their contacts, strategically, it was not as great a loss as it seemed. Thus, when Haven was brought out of Frenzy, and was ready to begin, she was coldly and immediately instructed upon control.
The lesson was not kind, but it was better than the alternative.
And after all the time training and controlling, and even some training upon rites and rituals, Haven was ready to provide use once more. They set her upon a boat, and she was to travel to England to oversee transactions between the Shadow Lords and some of the nobility. It was nothing truly important, simply a retrieval of a sum of money- but certainly a high task for a cub, and a female, at that; a truly worthy proving task.
It was simply a pity that the boat crashed upon Omen.
